I am excited to take the kids on a short spring break vacation this year. We are taking the kids to Hilton Head Island, where my wife grew up. For only $100 in net cost we are spending 4 days/nights at this beautiful 4 bedroom house.
We are able to do it with a credit card signup bonus and some strategic spending. A few months ago I signed up for the Wyndham Rewards Earners Business Card while it had a 90,000 points sign up bonus for $1,000 in spend. The card earns 8x points on gas and 5x points on utilities. With some winter utilities bills at my businesses and gas station spend I was able to earn a little over 200,000 points in 5 months.
Wyndham points are not all that valuable on their own, Wyndham has some high end properties but most are Super 8’s and Days Inn. The magic of this program is that you can use your points through Vacasa property rentals. The Wyndham card also gives you a 10% discount on redemptions. We were able to redeem 165,000 points for 3 nights at this golf course property in Sea Pines.
The house was recently renovated and allows pets. We get to take Emmie to the beach for her first time. Seen here in the creek near our house and after an hour long bath to pull the sticks and leaves off.
