Saving time and getting 25% back on my groceries

Saving time and getting 25% back on my groceries

Saving Time

Our time is the most valuable currency we can never get back. I don’t mind grocery shopping but often it takes 30-45 minutes when ever I stop in the store. I also get frustrated when I go there and they are missing half the items I need.

I found that Instacart allows you to get in store prices at Food Lion and let someone else do the shopping. Often before bed the night before or on break at work I will open the Instacart app and select my groceries for pick up on my way home. I still pick out my fresh produce, hit the “I’m here” button in the checkout line and they will have a cart full of my non-perishable and frozen goods waiting for me. Nasty weather I’ll just pick up my groceries and have them brought to my car.

Saving Money

Instacart has great ways to save money with your groceries, pickup your own order instead of delivery and they will knock 5% off your grocery bill. They will also pay you 1% back of your purchase in Delta Miles. Rakuten is a an affiliate marketing site that also pays between 1-6% back on your Instacart purchase.

Now to make the big bucks I utilize my Barclays Wyndham Business Credit Card to purchase Instcart Gift cards at 7-Eleven. This codes as a gas station purchase giving me 8x points back. If you do not have a business you can use the Wyndham Earners Plus Personal Credit Card that earns 6x back at gas stations. Wyndham points when you convert them to Vacasa Rentals are worth 2.5x per point. I earn 20% back in value for each $1 spent on an Instacart gift card. See this previous post about how to get free beach vacations with your Wyndham Points.
